Lone survivor from club entries at Moorex, 02/03 July 2016

Of the three club entries at this years Glenroy Plains Produce & PMD Race Products Off Road Masters, the lone survivor was #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann.

At the conclusion of Prologue, 1 lap of the 7km course,  #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann in the CAN-AM Maverick came in 9th, #506 Rod Holmes/Tina Holmes in the Ford Falcon 21st, and #510 Patrick Garnaut/Peter Garnaut in the Toyota Hiluxe 22nd.

After Section 1, 1 x 35km, #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann had moved down a place, coming in 10th, and #506 Rod Holmes/Tina Holmes had moved up 4 places, sitting in 17th. Sadly, #510 Patrick Garnaut/Peter Garnaut  succumbed to engine issues, and did not complete the lap.

Section 2, 2 x 35km laps, was carried out under lights, making for quite a spectacle as the vehicles raced around in the dark.  #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann was the only vehicle to start, as #506 Rod Holmes/Tina Holmes succumbed to transmission issues after Section 1, parking the vehicle for the rest of the event.

Section 3 had 19 vehicles greet the start lights, with #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann at position 9. There were 5 laps of the 35 km track to be completed.

At the conclusion of the Glenroy Plains Produce & PMD Race Products Off Road Masters, in a credible 8th outright, in the CAN-AM Maverick, and winning the class was #621 Toby Whateley/Simon Herrmann. With only one lap at 37 minutes, their lap times were consistently in the 24 minutes, which is only 3 minutes off the pace of the Pro and Prolite vehicles. Not bad going for such a small vehicle.

Congratulations to both of them on such a good effort at this great track.
